Santa Fe Springs, CA – April 1, 2015 – DS Broadcast, a new entrant in the field of broadcast encoders and decoders, is launching a new decoder and monitor option for broadcasters at the upcoming 2015 NAB Show. The BGD4000 Professional Decoder features a built-in LCD screen and two 5-watt front speakers to monitor HD / 4K Ultra HD broadcasting status in real time.

“Compact and designed to easily fit an existing 19-inch equipment rack, the DS Broadcast Professional Decoder includes a built-in video and audio monitoring system that eliminates the need for external monitors and is built around a dedicated 4K Ultra HD / HEVC System-On-Chip decoder for maximum stability and outstanding value. Some decoders use software-based decoding rather than a more stable SoC solution,” said Chris Lee, Director of Marketing & Sales of DS Broadcast Systems. “The BGD4000 was developed to serve the Korean broadcast market, and now we’re bringing this innovation to international customers by showing it for the first time at the NAB Show,” Lee explained. The BGD400 from DS Broadcast can be found the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth SU6906 during the NAB Show, from April 13-16.

The BGD4000 receives DVB-T/T2, ATSC (8VSB), Clear QAM (64/256) signals directly and outputs decoded video signals through a HDMI 1.4/2.0 port as well as to a built-in LCD monitor. The BGD4000 is also capable of analyzing and monitoring TS/T2MI data through DVB-ASI, IP or USB ports, which enables easy monitoring in a Single Frequency Network environment.

The decoder is designed with various inputs and outputs to enable decoding of HEVC (H.265), H.264 and H.262 signals for TV broadcasting. The new decoder also features an HDMI 2.0 interface for use in situations when a larger screen is desirable. Delivery of the BGD4000 to broadcast customers is expected this summer.
